I've got a line on a MX-6 turbo 2.2L engine to swap into my 1993 EFI B2200 manual truck but i need a little help. I know this seems like what everyone else has already asked, but i'm doing this a bit different. My truck has only 120000km on the original engine, so i want to keep pretty much the entire engine. So here are my questions.
-What do i need to salvage from the donor car for the swap? (head, manifolds, turbo, ecu, wiring harness, fuse block, electric fan, etc.)
-Does it matter if the donor was manual or auto?
-Do i use my ECU, the one from the donor, or an aftermarket one?
-Will my truck function fully after the swap? (ABS, gauges, etc.)
-Do i need the whole wire harness from the donor car, or just the ECU and the sensors specific to the donor car?
-Since the pistons in my truck are higher compression than the ones in the F2T, how much power can i expect to make (over the 140+ the F2T makes), and are there any problems that may arise from the higher compression?
-Are there any modifications that need to be made to the engine? I know the intake needs to be rotated, and i've heard something about the distributor.
-Will an MSD type system fix any problems that may occur due to the distributor?
-Aside from the engine, how much should this swap cost and how long should it take?
-What fuel mileage can i expect to get?
Any other info you can offer would be much appreciated.
Please get back to me soon as i posted this thread Sunday night and need a response by Thursday afternoon. Thanks again!
