just finished swaping beds....my gas needle says empty but when i fill her up about 3 gallons gas shoots out like its full??? and when i park on a hill it goes half tank??

yeah you need to pull your sending unit up out of the tanks clean the coil and rebend the arm so it touches again

the sending unit in the tank is a long thin tube with a "slider" that runs up and down the tube which causes ur gas guage to work.After years of use,the "slider" doesnt make good contact with the tube and causes faulty readings.U can pull the sending unit out of the tank either by taking the bed of the truck loose on the tank side so u can raise it up to access the tank OR drop the tank.When u get the sending unit out,u can clean the tube and bend the contact points on the "slider"in tighter so they will give a more accurate reading.Be careful if u take the unit out and dont drop any dirt or sh-- in yr tank.Better?BJ

yes the bar with the floater on it so it makes better contact with the coil ant the top
