jdm 2.6?

hi, my 91 b2600i is in need of a new motor and i was wondering if anyone knew what the differences are between the jdm and the usdm motor. i live in cali. and need to pass smog so i need the right motor or need to MAKE it the right motor. also, if anyone has a motor for sale please let me know.

Not sure if there was a JDM 2.6i.Maz put the 2.6i in trucks,the MPV van,the old 929s here but I dont know if they put them in anything domestic.Interesting question,I will do a little research and see what I turn up.BJ

the reason i think there is, is because all of the motors i find on e-bay say they are JDM. for example:


also, i've heard that the jdm motors are 2.5L.

someone has to know something.

might be a scam..looks just like the 2.6 in my truck

thats what i was thinking but i've read things like, there are jdm engines but they are 2.5l, so i don't know what to believe. i don't see why they would try to scam someone out of only $8xx for a used motor.

The block and head should be the same, you might have to swap your oil pan into the JDM blocl, All that means it's an engine from japan imported to the US. it was probabl;y used on a defferent vehicle in Japan, You are only using the block itself not allthe accessories. use your intake and exhaust manifold and your flywheel if neccesary.
