okay guys the other day my radiator got a small crack in it.... so my dad and i took it out and soldered it shut.... it holds water just fine it doesnt spray out there even after running now.... my deal now is that i fill it up with water right before i leave and by the time i get into town (5 miles) ihave to wait for it to cool down and fill it back up because for some reason its all boiling into the overflow tank. could it be the water pump not circulating water causing it to build up pressure and boil over?

i also have already replaced my thermostat for a new one.... any ideas on what the problem could be it only has to last me for 22 more days

thanks guys

not too tough, about 3 hours if your first time, will take longer to remove all the accesories out of the way then to get the head off. you might as well send the head to a machine shop to get it checked out while you're at it. more then likely you overheated while the radiator was bad and before your dad fixed it and caused the head to warp a bit and blow the head gasket.

b4 you go through all that remove your new thermostat and drop it in boiling water to make sure its opening just because its new doesnt mean its good...if it doesnt open buy another one ...i had to do this to my truck........i'd try that first
