Went and got my son's mazda last night(pics to come). I knew there were a few issues with it but I figured the price was right. Anyhow it is a 92 2600i, auto tranny and a reman cpu. The first time you crank it and it starts it dies right away, then crank it and it fires right off and runs. It does this every time. I even shut it off and tried right away again and same thing. Anyone got any ideas?

get a guage and check ur fuel pump pressure. The in tank pump on an FI truck should be delivering about 15 psi to the fuel rail. Also check the gas cap and see if it has a good seal.It starts and burns up the small amount of fuel in the rail and dies until u recrank and draw up some more fuel.It should hold better pressure than that. Also replace the fuel filter on the pass. side firewall.bjBJ

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I didn't take the time to mess with it this weekend. But I did find if we wait 3-4seconds after turning the key on it starts right up. Also we changed the spark plugs and it made a huge difference in how well it runs.
