So I decided to drive to blue truck today to do some cleaning up on it before a guy comes Saturday to try to buy it. Its about 35 miles each way and it isn't the first time I have taken it. It drove over just fine not a problem, but about half way home I was in fifth gear about 65 mph and all of the sudden the rpm's rose. I put the clutch in and reved it up a couple times but didn't help. Once i got into town at low speeds it seems to miss a bit and its running rich. It has a header on it and the previous owner capped alot of the lines on the stock carb. I can't find a vacum leak any where. Sorry for the book. I have an extra Weber but it needs to be rebuilt and I'd like to get it fixed before saturday. Please any of you that can help.

Heres a pic I know its a mess.

Mine runs rich too, I dunno how to adjust it, and it idles about 1100 rpm which to me is too high, Mine has an extremely small miss, so I would like some info too.

kinda sounds like your computer went into limp mode

Limp mode only happens if the check engine light is on, Also typically only will happen on 96+ vehicels with obdII, It also will only work if you have a map sensor and or injection

ECU's will only trigger limp mode if your check engine light comes on.

Well, Pull the + off the battery for about 15minutes it will reset the ecu, and there ya go, But Im pretty sure it isnt in limp mode, most Carb vehicles wont ever get that, especially when the ECU only controls your emissions equipment. not even controls lol just monitors

how did you look for a leak? Take starter fluid and spray it on the lines (or wd40) while the trucks running, if theres a leak it will suck in the fluid and make it run like a fucker. Thats where the leak is
