Transmission swap?

Okay i have a single cab 90 b2600 that has a manual tranmission.

an i have a extra cab 92 b2600 thats has a automatic transmission.

i want to take the transmission from the single cab an put in the extra cab.

my questions are is it possible?what parts would i need?

i kind of have a idea of what i need to do like maybe cutting a hole for the shifter,installing the master cylinder,routing the lines,pedals an stuff.

any help will be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure the drive shafts are a different length (auto vs 5sp) so you may need to find one from a 5sp xcab. your trucks are 4x2 right? I can't remember if the 4x2's had different rear ratios for auto vs 5sp. I'm pretty sure that was the case with the 4x4s.

if you have both trucks, you can use the parts from the 5 speed one. you're going to need the pedal assembly, the shift linkage, tranny of course, driveshaft, there's already going to be a hole in the floor under the carpet, you'll have everything you need to do it in the spare truck, just look into the shift linkage bushings.. they may be worth replacing so you have no play in the shifter.

but the spare truck is a single cab an the one i want the manuals trans in is ext. cab

i believe you need the ecu out of the 5-speed truck too.

ohhhh.. yeah, you're going to need a driveshaft from am x-cab.

you might be able to just split the drive shafts and use the rearend piece from the ext cab, and the front piece from the standard reg cab. the ecu wont matter. you will have to do some wiring to bypass the park and neutral lock outs, and the reverse light hook ups to. good luck with your swap, i've done a few on b2200's but none on b2600's. you should snap a pic of the trannies from each truck when you have them on the ground
