Ok here it is, I got a 87 2200, all the emissions stuff is gone to include the EGR valve. I put the 34 Weber on and a header. When I got the truck it did not run, hadn't ran in over a year, but I rebuilt the motor myself and timed everything up right and after a few almost starts, I got it running good. It sounded good and ran good for a few days of driving it to the store and back but now its running like its mis firing and you have to mash the gas to get it to start, dies at stops and smokes like hell (not oil smoke). After you hold the throttle to the floor and it finally starts, it sounds and smells like its flooded. I am wondering if the EGR valve needs to be back on but I have heard of folks who do the swap take it off and make a filler plate which I did. then again it seems like a vacuum leak but checked for leaks and cant find any. Ive messed with the mixture screw but still nothing and it seems to get a lot worse once the engine is warm/hot. Heres a few pix of my progress, if you see somthing wrong please let me know. PLEASE HELP ME!!

ive got my egr blocked for over a year and no problem at all. mine started doing the same thing slowly. and then one day got really really bad. i figured out that the fuel pressure regulator i was running was breaking down.

Im not sure if its in the weber at all, but ive been rackin my brain tryin to figure out what it could be. Should I put a fuel pressure regulator on it? It acts like its getting way too much fuel and is fouling out the spark. I did pull the spark plugs out and they looked fine besides a lil carbon but they were not wet with fuel. Would too much fuel pressure be causing all this?

if ur truck was carbed before the stock FPR should be just fine.U can buy an el cheapo inline fuel pressure gauge and check ur pressure.should be about 3 pounds give or take.RedLine (Weber) has a great 1-800 tech line u can call. They are pretty good about helping with problems like this.BJ

check and see if all the vacum lines on the intake are capped if one of those are missing then that could cause the problem of the motor not staying running...thats the problem i had with mine
