so what is an easier swap a 350 chevy or 302 ford

i know they will both require some fab... and i know a 350 requires other motor mounts and I heard that the firewall needs to be recessed back some but dunno if thats true

dont know too much about the 302 swap...

right now i have access to both so just gonna take my time on it

thanks for any input!

If you do a 350 the distributor will hit the back of the firewall/bulkhead almost dead center!

Some just beat it in, but take the time trim it out and make a filler panel..

If you go that route I would scoop these up:

well scratch what i ask... as my neighbor just gave me a 351m so i guess i need to re-ask the question but with a 351 instead

if you have the engine allready i'd say that would be the easier swap

351 will be a little wider than the sbc or 302, but IMO the Ford would be easier as the distributor is in the front. But I think for either swap a little transmission tunnel clearancing will be needed. Good luck with the project!

351m is wider, and it's not a rev happy motor it makes torque. if you use the M might go with a narrowed 9 inch rear end
