I know a little. I had a 5.0 HO fuel injected in my 4x4 ranger. If you do a carb'd motor it would be a lot easier. I ran an AOD tranny to a BW1356 transfer case. That setup was huge under the truck. I had to set the motor off to the pass. side of the truck , clearance the drivers side, and shave a little off the t-case. In order to fit a 302 with 4x4 under a mazda I would do a C-4 tranny with an advanced adapters unit to a stock ranger tranny. Unless you want a 5speed than do the T-5. Anyway you go, you will be changing the entire drive train. I don't know of any adapters for a 5.0 to a mazda tranny, and I don't think it would hold up anyway.
