running like crap

so my truck has started runnin like shit lately loss of power so i replaced the fuel filter, plugs, wires, and cleaned the carb out is running a little bit better but every time i try to go up a hill i slow way down so then i will down shift but the rpms are to high and the motor just spits and sputters also when pushing the accelarator futher the exaust just gets louder but no response in power or speed an the check engine light is off so i doubt its any of the emmisions stuff

o dang ok well i would have the codes checked because the light doesnt always come on when it throws a code....

did u also do points and condensor???

Check all your vaccume lines on your intake one split line cause a whole hell of a lot of probs, also check the vacume advance line also.

when is the last time u replaced ur clutch disk?

i'm not sure what ya mean by clutch disk but this afternoon when i got off i got a new distributor cap and button well the button didn't fit but the new cap did and the truck runs better than it has since i got it so thats good news and i checked for vaccum leaks and couldn't find any i think the carb is a little messed up but it will be ok i plan on getting a webber before long

i was just thinking if ur clutch disk was worn then it was slipping when a load was put on it....but if u fixed it then congrats.....

maybe your catalytic converter?
