hmm there is a fuel pump on the block directly behind the intake. its mechanical and rotated by the cam shaft. if there isnt one there then there is an electronic fuel pump mounted in the tank. what i would do first is pull off the air cleaner assembly and remove the gas line. have some one turn the key and try to crank the truck. see if there is any gas coming thru. if there is gas then you know that your lines, filter are not clogged. if there is no gas coming thru at all then i would start at the tank and work forward.
to check the fuel pump itself, you will need to get a length of fuel line (probably about 5-6'), a milk jog filled with gas. connect one end of the new fuel line to the "in from tank" side of the pump. have someone go turn the key and try to crank the engine. what you are doing is bypassing the factory tank, lines, filter etc.
if it cranks with the milk jug trick then you know there is either clogged lines, filter, or debris in the tank. if it still doesn't drank after the milk jug trick then you have a faulty fuel pump or badly gummed up carb. to make sure the fuel pump isnt the issue, disconnect the fuel line at the carb and do the milk jug trick. if fuel starts flowing out of the line that was disconnected from the carb, then you know the problem lies with the carb.
go by a can or three of carb cleaner and start spraying it down and see if that loosens the varnished internals and allows the truck to fire, or go start looking for another carb.
hope this helps you out.
