i was told it was the clutch safety switch or whatever, so we took that off and just connected it but still nothing.

any ideas?

Does it start? If it tryin to turn over but doesnt start and ur tach not moving? I would start by looking to see if you have spark. If there no spark then it wouldnt do anything.

just checked. there was spark, but it took the engine to turn over a more than enough times. think my distributor has/is going bad?

okay, NEW PROBLEM. we decided on the distributor cap being corroded after we cleaned it a bit and it started right back up. so a new one of those is on the way...

but now, if the clutch is pressed in too far, it just dies? clutch going bad? need adjusted? what's the deal

I bet it's the ignition modual, not related to the clutch at all
