what causes white smoke also i smell alot of unburned fuel

Is your truck constantly smoking or just on start up? Mine blows white smoke when I start it cold but it goes away in a few minutes. Not sure whats causing it, so consider this post a long-winded bump.

water = white smoke
oil = blue smoke
fuel= black smoke

its just for a few minutes on a cold start it stinks really bad

but wouldn't i be losing coolant if i was burning water it kinda smells like a gas and oil mix

ok its smoking worse but atleast i finally go to see it in the day light the smoke is a dark color and smells exactly like gas it now smokes every time you push the gas harder or go up a hill any ideas on what could be causing this problem

sounds like your choke could be stuck
bad computer or just a dirty carb
also check the timing

ok this afternoon got a chance to check the choke its not stuck closed so thats good. Sprayed a butload of carb cleaner down the carb is a little better on smell but smoking more now. Pulled the plugs number 1,2,and 3 were black with soot and number four had a little oil on it which i believe is running in the plug hole due to a leaky valve cover that will get replaced this weekend havent got to check the timming yet gotta borrow a timming light from a friend.
