Hey guys
my 1989 Mazda B2000 was running perfectley then all of a sudden
on the way home today it started to splutter and backfire every now and again.
Its normally when u put ur foot down the revs drop to 0 and back to 3 then 0 then 1 etc etc it splutters and backfires when this happens

can anybody please help?

im not a motor guy ,but i remember i had a similiar problem, one day i was driving and truck just started running real weird ,finally made it home ,and noticed 1 of those 3 hoses that went to factory carb filter housing came off ,maybe check that .or id say check if a vacumm hose came off ..maybe spark plugs or wires too idk ,just offering ideas to check

Sounds like its not getting gas. see if it does it when you rev it up in neutral or out of gear. Fuel pump probally going out.

1.Check for loose or cracked vacuum lines.
2.How long since timing belt replaced? check belt condition and ensure truck is timed properly-6% BTDC.
3.Check sight glass on drivers side of factory carb and be sure fuel level is at the etched mark on the glass with engine running.
4.How long since fuel filter was replaced.?Replace it if u dont know.also plugs and wires.
Check those 4 things and get back if truck is still misbehaving.Lol.BJ
