convert from 5 speed to auto?

i want to convert my truck from 5 speed to an auto i have a parts truck with a auto.
im just wondering how hard this will be?

i will be pulling the motor and tranny from the parts truck and putting it in my project truck.

also there is alot of play in the shifter on the auto tranny and its a bear to try and start.
pretty much have to ram the shifter forward and hold it there to get it to turn the engine over.

why is this?

your gonna need harness computer steering column flywheel of course trans stuff and drive line

the shifter prolly needs to be adjusted neutral safety switch maybe




and where the hell have you been?

theres also play side to side on the shifter..... like a bushing is out. is that possable??

why would i need the column?

i have a tilt column that i want to in my truck cuz i cant get me fat leg under the steering wheel. cuz my truck is BD'd. lol

also what harness am i goin to need? do i need the complete truck harness or just parts of it?

KINDA funy cuz im pulling out the auto and putting in the 5 speed In my DAWG im gonna miss talking on my phone drinking my mocha and smoking at the same time well maybe i have to give one up "SCREW THAT" I WILL JUST USE MY KNEE

Did you ever get anywhere with the swap? I am going to be doing the same thing. I have heard flywheel, some brackets on each side of the motor that go to the tranny, driveshaft, kickdown switch from the pedal assembly (or the entire pedal assembly), the tranny mount between the tranny and the crossmember, and possibly the in tank mounted fuel pump. Supposedly the autos had an electric pump, where as the 5 speeds have a mechanical pump. I am going down to get all this stuff today. I will let you know how it goes. I will be putting it in next week. Hopefully it goes well.
