I'm changing piston rings but dont know what type to get? stock iron rings, moly, or chrome??? can anyone tell me the differences? Im not doing anything radical to the engine, just a rebuild with new rings and bearings , weber carb and headers.

You get what you pay for and seeing as rings are fairly cheap, just get some good ones. Chrome moly rings are some of the metter ones. Can't explain why tho

Stock iron rings will work fine and they are easy on the block. Chrome moly are good rings and last but will wear out the block faster. No matter wich you get make sure the block is honed for the ones you get. Each type takes a little diff grit hone.
