Ignition Help

Alright somethings up with my ignition and thought someone would know. When i put the key in and turn it forward there are not lights on in the cluster it will turn over but not fire. If i wiggle the harness coming out of the cylinder on the left of the column it will get a connection and the cluster lights come on and then it will start and run. I'm heading down to georgia next weekend for blooddrag and need to get this fixed. Maybe hot wire it for now even lol. Let me know something guys. Thanks

is it auto if so make sure the nutral (spelling???) saftey switch is good and make sure its in park i just did a total swap from a auto to a 5 speed and i had to completley bypass the switch and run a complete new wire from the starter to the back of the ign (all black with red line) there is a switch on the clutch peddle (most are bad) if not pressed in it wont start maybe wifgling the wires has something to do with that
if you want to completely repalce the whole ignition switch you will need to get a chisel because the heads on the top of the igniton aren't heads phillips or flat your going to have to tap them out (its easy) the hard part is unplugging all 5 or 6 plugs that are so far up behind the dash your gonna be better off pulling the whole dash to get to them.its easy to pull dash your gonna probley need a buddy to help ya i have done it so many times i could do it in my sleep now
