damn cooling systems!

So I got out today and I know this truck has had some neglect....and the entire cooling system is really one of em....nothing but basically pure rust in there.......I flushed the rad and capped off the lower....let it fill...added some pressure to it and uncorked the lower end again....and out comes a ton of crud.....did that about 15 times and it seems like it was coming pretty clean.....so I uncapped the heater core....and stuck a powerflo nozzle on the drivers side....and got nothing but dribbles out the other side.....tried going back and forth.....just dribbles....no real flow......damn.....that sucks....cuz I know whats coming up and I aint looking forward to it...but I got no heat, no ac (getting sent into the shop for that one)....and its weird cuz my temp gauge never gets to the middle....unless I am just sitting in traffic with my electric fans off.....really strange....but that was part of todays adventures......I looked into a new clutch....which is $250 a decent deal? I havent done a clutch in so long I couldnt tell ya..........also power flushed the insides of the motor also....and OMG!!! the horridiness of that smell coming out from my cooling system.....OMFG! Even my girl and my kid both took off on me and left me alone.....traitors i tell ya!! LOL

Wow - definitely sounds like that B has had some serious neglect. As for the clutch, no idea. have not done one in years either.

shoulda seen the horridiness coming out of there man......I was like "OMFG!!!! anybody EVER clean this out?????" I will run some more flush thru....power it out one more time.....and see how she is doing.


I found a load of crapped out connectors too....a reed switch in my brake master cylinder had some corroded wires, another right on my dist....one wire only had ONE STRAND attched any longer!!! WTF??? and I only had been getting MAYBE 250-260 miles a tank of gas.......that cant be right....so today is the first time filled up with wires (kinda) repaired....I am hunting for a crapped out 2600i (which apparently isnt the easiest thing to find) so I can raid me some connectors and wires.......and do the 2000/2200's and 2600i seats interchange????? I have heard both but need to know before I go buy some....although I found some SWEET tiburon leathers I might score on.

i wanna think i got my clutch for $100-150. i got it from orielly auto parts, nothing fancy but it gets back and forth to work.

really?? I checked vatozone for the one today.......but that was just the first place I checked.

So your saying that the cooling system was crapping out on you or were you just doing some TLC on the B

just doing some TLC bro.....going thru everything so she runs good first. ah maintanance....god love it. LOL
