anybody know what the wires that go from the distributor to the coil go to or what they are for? of course they are used to power something but what inside the dizzy could they power?

The 2 wires coming out of the dist are from the brain and the pickup. It gives the coil the signal to fire when the dist turns and that also sends the spark to the cap then to the rotor to the plug wires then to the plugs rinse and repeat!
