So I was B/Sing with my cousin yesterday, and swapping my motor in the b2200 came up... I started to do a little reading online and came up with this.

86-88 b2600's had the g54B-102hp motor, the Mitsubishi Starion/Chrysler Conquest also has this motor, but, with 150-197hp w/ a td05 Turbo.

Has anyone done one of these swaps on here?

I have access to the motor, could I use that trans? Dont think my stock would handle the power.

I have never swapped one, but I did help a buddie rebuild a starion. I would say the easiest route would be to find a donor rig. Not being sure if the tranny was the same or not, plus the wiring and turbo ecu would make it much smoother to do. I believe there were 2 different turbo sizes also, his car had a very small turbo that made boost just about 1500rpm. We got a adapter flange off ebay and stuck a T3/T4 on it without issue.

You would have to use the starion transmission because the 2.2 trans will not bolt up. Also have to make new motor mounts, trans crossmember, and get the driveshaft modified.

New motor mounts? I thought the b2600 engine dropped into a b2200.
Wouldn't a 86-88 b2600 trans bolt up to the starion motor, since it's the same block?

All the info you will need can be found here

Thanks man!

"It is also possible to bolt the B2600 transmission up, but it may have a longer input shaft which will not work with the Starion flywheel."

Well that is good to know. From everything I have heard the 2.6 and 2.2 engine mounts are in different locations and need to be changed when swapping.

the g54b is not really a good option for an engine swap tho. id rather swap a f2t off of a 1st gen mazda mx6 or a 1st gen ford probe ur make a lot more power and less fab work, the engine will bolt right up onto ur tranny (just gotta swap ur stock flywheel and clutch) and ur engine mount just my 2 cents.

Maybe I need to hunt down an 86-88 b2600
