soo i got my mazda all done, hasnt been on the road in awile due to the tear down on the suspension e.t.c.(but still started on a daily basics)

k well for some reason, it idles at 2,000 rpm's. it drives fine, doesnt bogg down, accelerates fine, but when you go to slow down, it drops in rpms and stalls. then you have to start it and keep it reved up to go. like i said it stays idling at 2,000 rpms, but when we go to adjust it down, it goes down to about 1,000 rpms, then climbs back up to 2,000rpms... yes i searched arounf here and did the pcv filter, but that didnt do anyything different. i need to get this fixed asap becuz thier is alot of shows coming up!

heres a vid to show what im talking about

stock carb? 1. not enough slack in accel cble? 2.Accel cable binding? 3.Auto choke malfunctioning and truck is not coming off the fast idle cam? 4.Timing ok? 5.Accel cable not installed correctly under the dash? bj

my feeble suggestion: Get some carb cleaner, take the air cleaner off the truck, have a buddy start the truck and let it get warm and hold the idle at 1500 rpm or so.spray the inside of the carb with the motor at 1500 rpm--it will bog down so spray a little, let the revs pick back up,etc. then spray the out side of the carb and clean it off.while doing this, watch for puffs of smoke, spray that could be a bad vacuum line.finally, get some silicone based spray lube (NOT cleaner) and spray the butterfly pivot points inside the carb, and all the linkage on the outside of the carb.see if that helps.bj

thanks ill give it a try. we already did the carb clean, no luck.

i ordered my weber tho, so hoelfully this will just eliminate alot of stupid problems..
