Like the title says, as of right now I'm running a stock carb with none of the emissions crap. I live in Chattanooga but my truck is registered in Cleveland at my grandparents because they don't have emissions there. But I've heard that they are thinking of starting the emissions there in a few years.

So my question is this. If I get a Webber Carb & a new catalytic converter & a Magnaflow muffler, will my truck pass the emissions tests? It's an 86 b2000 with 327,000 miles on the clock but the motor was rebuilt about 5k ago.

Thanks in advance!

It depends on what tests are done in your state. Here (California) it would not pass. You need all of the stock stuff. But if your state only requires the "sniffer" you would pass no problem. My roadster didn't pass this year because it doesnt have the stock gas tank. They have a new test where they put some type of gass in your tank and then see if it goes up to the charcoal canister under the hood. (Evaperative Control Test?)

you also gotta take into consideration... what will the year cut off be? In washington i think its only vehicals 25 years old and under do emissions. But you can tune a webber so you can pass.
