I'm running R134a in my 86 B2000 & it gets really cold.

Still got R12 and it is a lot colder than my 99 GMC with 134a.

Does all Mazda 2000,2200 come R12 from the Factory?

Yes they all did come with r12.If yours has 134a it has been converted.

R-12 fittings on the lines look like screw threads.

Retrofit units screw over those fittings, and they show no threads to the outside. The service equipment spring clips to the fittings.

Neither. I had R12, it went out, converted to R134 and now it's out too. And, I'm too lazy to fix it (plus I'm doing an engine swap right now anyway). It doesn't get that terribly hot in Texas...
