Last week my Mazda took a dump while my friend was borrowing it. I checked - / + terminal on coil while cranking, everything looked normal but no spark at the cap or coil. Checked ohms on coil ,primary/secondary terminals were with in spec. So I checked the pick-up coil today, again, everything with in spec. So it seems the problem should be the Igniter/ module (parts guy called it a module, ignition diagram lists as igniter)?

Anyone run into this problem? More importantly, anyone have resistence specs on the module/igniter for an 86/87 mazda B2000?

any suggestions would be great.

injected or carby?

carby.

i bought a new module from napa and installed it today. truck started right up. I went ahead and replaced the pick-up coil and ignition coil while I was under the hood. old coil was on the high side of resistence.

pick-up coil 30$ + Ignition Coil 35$ + Module 45$ = peace of mind -=D

i'm having a similar problem... only the #1 cylinder fires.

i have all new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, i did the cheaper parts first. ha still won't run...

i know what the ignition coil is and i believe the module/igniter is the the little black chip vlooking thing under the distributor cap....

what is the pick up coil?

how can i test the those same parts that you did?
