just swapped a new clutch in, feels so good! but i've had this rear end noise for a while now, it only squeals in gear, stops suddenly when i coast, and fades away as i reach about 25-30mph. sounds mostly coming from the driver side. i pulled the tire off and spun the LH hub and noticed it had a slight (wobble)not the word) but it wasn't spinning true. could this be the wheel bearing...can i reuse seals if i do take it apart that far...

its just annoying as hell to try go cruisin and have this little hissings squeal follow you around.

get the entire rear end off the ground, with the tires still installed.

With the vehicle indicating 25-30 mph, and someone near the rear end, you shold be able to hear localized noises.

From your description. . .it doesn't sound like a bearing as much as a driveshaft u joint.

Noises from under the vehicle are going to be heard on the driver's side while you are driving due to the waveform travel. If you were a passnger, it is likely the sounds might sound like they are coming from the right side.

Again, with the rear end off the ground, you can feel for driveshaft wobble with the engine off.

If you took off the tire and not the drum, maybe the wobble you saw was a loose drum on the hub.
