I have been doing some research and now I need to check something, but the problem is, I don't have a loose head to do the checking with.
Anyone with a SOHC head, loose, with a cam installed. . .
I need to find out if the valves, when open to their maximum lift point. . .protrude at all above the deck of the head.
I have a short block that I want to put some FE-D pistons in, but the valve reliefs are cut differently. Someone told me that it might not matter.
But I don't want to do that until I know these motors are truly non-interferance. That would only be the case if the valves do not reach below the flat surface of the head when they are fully open.
I think this thing is going to be a 10+ to 1 if standard valve lift is non invasive.
