Hi. I am new here. I thought I give it a shot and see if someone has some solutions for me.
I have a 87 B2000 1998ccm (think it's a California model). Recently I rebuild the engine (still looking for a better head then I have at the moment) due to huge oil consumption and low power. Now it is kinda running ok, but have a very bad gas milage. The cat is kind of burned down which shouldn't be a problem since the o2 sensor is sitting before the cat. About a year and a half ago I had to do a head gasket, and a friend of mine screwed around on the mixture screw. Guess it was running all the time to rich and ruined my rings.
At the last emission test I had to completely close (turn in) the mixture screw to pass emissions. Now i read somewhere that it is possible to use a dwell meter to adjust the fuel mixture on a B2200. Has someone an Idea ow to do that on a 87 B2000?
Also looking for Instructions how to set/bend all the tabs on the stock carb since I am watching a karb rebuild kit on ebay which probably doesn't have the instructions. Did it a few years ago, but lost the paperwork.
And a vacuum diagram for that model would be helpfull too, since I have one for a B2200 but it doesn't look exactly like my system only kind of close.
Would appreciate any help.
Thanks
