Fuse link?

Is there a fusable link in the wiring on a 89 b-2200. I lost power when i turn the key on but can jump over at the coil to get it to start then its fine. Also the alt quit charging.... not sure if it was from when i grounded the batt out or what. I read in the book there is a fuse link but i cant find it. Thanks, Craig

look at the main fuse box ill bet the main blew
it could also be you ignition(key) switch

There is a series of three or more fusible links next to the battery. . . under the hood.

The other fuse panel is under the dash on the left side. There is a panel that opens next to the speaker.

Yea we checked the 3 next to the battery and those are just for headlights and stuff like that. We have gone through all of the fuses in the fuse panel next to the speaker. The problem is somewhere in the wiring between the battery and the ignition.

have you checked all the ignition wires going up to the key switch?? the po of my truck had installed an auto start and alarm and had spliced into those wires and did an awful job of connecting the wires (used twist and tape method) so every other time or so when i went to crank the truck it wouldnt' do anything....

Not looking for fuses but a fuse link inline.

I grounded the batt out putting a new battery in.

Not sure on the fusible link, but theres an 80 amp fuse next to the battery that all power for the truck goes through. Ive had one of those blow and make the truck do what your describing.
