Are yall saying this mazda/kia motor bolts up to the stock transmission in a b2200 5spd?
futrao   +1y
yah they bolt right up to the 5 spd tranny and engine mount just need to swap ur stock engine mount to the fe-doch motor

do you know how reliable these motors are? Every one on CL has a blown motor. Also is it just the sportage or do other kia models have the same motor?
paparoach1983   +1y
Just the sportage as i know and most of the ppl who have blown motors it is the head gasket or a broken timing belt. these motors when takin care of and not beet to death will last a long time i have several customers that have these with over 200k on them and still runing strong. others opinions will very thouw

yeah totally, , where do I start?...............I plan on doing a turbo I will want at leat 250 hp at the wheels,
High performace parts list , and any other possible issues or concerns, I was thinkin like build on solomiata.com I would need to build my own exhaust mani and intake mani
the electrical end of things would be good to know also the fe3 mazda is fwd and the dist pokes into the firewall in rwd applications , blocking off the spot on the head is easy its how to make it work after that?

yeh it doesnt have a block off rather a cam sensor for the 2 coil packs which are staggered between the cylinders(ex: piston 1&3 use 1 coil and 2&4 use the other).. it makes for a cleaner install imo.. and so far the only things ive come up with for high performance is 300zx valves and vr6 springs and such and you wont need to swap them unless your plannin on going 400whp or higher all the stock head components are said to be strong enough to support at most 350hp if its rebuilt and/or in good working order, as for the block end you can use the r2 crank as a stroker as i seen on mx6 forum.. but if your only going with 250whp you can push around 20psi with (mostly) stock internals.. i would go with a copper head gasket and a few other stronger things if your going that way tho.. and if you only wanna go with like 15psi u can even run an f2t computer instead of a chipped one.. and i think with 15psi and an f2t ecu you would probably sit at 220whp???? im guessing.. im not sure of the comp ratio's of what engines cuz i know they have so many variats i havent even checked into it.. mine is a kia so im assuming its 9.1 or 9.2 to 1 and the only thing is to maybe have someone port out the head where the valves are..

me im thinkin of either a small turbo running 10psi or all motor and high compression

the kia motor or FE3 is pretty much the best improvement engine wise u can get that is pretty much just bolt up. aside from a rotary or rotary turbo. if u run MS2 with the FE3 and turbo it my god u will b scrared lol

I really want the FE3 JDM actually the mazda version, not the Kia, lower compression better for the turbo .
Fidanza makes a lighter flywheel too.
