MODS/STAFF CAN YOU MOVE THIS TO 2.6L IF IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. SORRY...

Well my truck has been acting weird since i ran it low on gas.THIS ENTIRE SITUATION HAPPENED FROM TURNING IT OFF AND STARTING IT THE NEXT DAY. IT WAS LOW ON GAS. I ignored the problem because it was at the same time i was pulling it in to start the body drop. Since the bd is done enough for me to tinker with other things i started with that problem. A very bad miss heavy studder.

First i replaced the plugs and wires which was needed and did a compression test while i was in that area.
I then added gas and injector cleaner. Started it up and it was the same problem. Like it wasnt hitting on all cylinders.

I replaced the dizzy cap and checked the timing which was fine. I then did another compression test and everything checked out. I continued to mess with it and let it run a bit and mess with some hoses and nothing changed.

I checked for spark and it was good. i made sure all plugs were firing through. They were. I pulled all plugs to see if any change was made to the new plugs and noticed that the first and third were firing in the chamber and the second and fourth were still clean. As if they were not firing/getting fuel.

Once i noticed that i started it up and pulled the first plug off. The motor cut off. I did the same with the second and no change was made. Repeated on the third and it cut off. Again on the fourth and it didnt change.

So that led me to believe that since all compression is good. all timing and ignition is fine. That my problem lies on the fuel side.

That is where i am now. I just checked the plug for the second injector and it is getting power i just dont know if it is the correct power. Could they both be clogged. Is there a certain plug or relay that controls them two.??????

well, if you unpluged the spark plug wires and it made no change then it might be the injectors, if you want to narrow it down to the injectors, then pop off the fuel rail and change the order of the injectors and try again, if the order of the miss has changed then its the injectors, you can pop them back off and have them cleaned, what we did, was apply 12 volts to the injector and push compressed air through it, but, do it quick, you can damage the injector

thanks man that is on my list for tomorrow.

ok well it is late i am done for the night. i finished up by going over some wiring. gonna go over the injectors and hopefully narrow things down or if time permits get it fixed.

please keep up the feed back....

well i have been messing with this same problem for the last three days. i have been through the truck twice.
i called my uncle and he came up. is diagnosis is that the control module in the dizzy is bad or its the dizzy.
we pulled the injectors and turned it over. nothing out of 2 and 4. he says it cuase the dizzy isnt sending signal for the injectors to work. the pulsating isnt happening eventhough i am getting fire.

hes gonna bring his mini dignostic machine thing here if he has time. hopefully i can find some cheap used parts at the j/y today.

DOES THIS SEEM TO BE THE CORRECT SOLUTION I REALLY HOPE SO....THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP... ANY OTHER HELP/INPUT WOULD BE GREAT.

man it almost sounds like the same problem im having. i have a few extra parts for our trucks if you need anything give me a call or shoot me a text 229-444-7036. oh and im getting my computer back today from getting rebuilt so if need be you could throw it in yours just to eliminate that as a problem. the computer from what i understand grounds the injectors.

I am strongly against pushing high pressure air through the injectors because they can be damaged instantly.

We all know the the proper way to test injectors is to get them flow tested but i have had had luck by just soaking them overnight in a container of pure injector cleaner.

You could pull an injector and visually check the spray pattern because this is a dead on way to find out if you have one that is failing. I had 1 of three injectors i knew was failing and after the soak the spray pattern improved to how the other 3 were spraying.

You should toss in a new fuel filter before you test the spray patterns
This is what my fuel filter looked like inside! it had sand and other debris that were definitely limiting the amount of fuel flowing to the pump. On this note you should check the fuel pickup in your tank, they can deteriorate and clog the pickup inlet.

Best of luck

skrapin---i checked all of those things. i have fuel to the rail/top side of the two injectors. only the first and third injectors are working. 2 and 4 are not. i have good fire, compression, but my injectors arent gettin the signal to spray like they should. i swapped injectors but no help. swapping them did show me that they all work but the number 2 and 4 arent spraying.

ill be in touch by monday. that would be great since i dont have money to throw out there and just be fixing things for elimination purposes. thanks a ton. 540 623 4244 is mine just so you have it. thanks again.

Alright so injectors 2 and 4 will never fire even when swapped with the injectors that were firing on 1 and 3. I have never owned a mazda with a fuel injected engine but other imports. Have you checked to see if the injectors are grounded well? Try re grounding them? check your ecu to see at some point if coolant has leaked into it and partially fried something as this has happened before.

the injectors are have ground wires that run to them in there harness its not like they have a body ground. the ecu grounds the injectors to make them work, and yeah i do agree with you that he needs to check the ecu's board cause that is a very common problem
i just got my computer back today and it solved my injector problem so i know the ecu is good now.
oh and monday shouldn't be a problem just give me a call
