hey guys my b2000 has started to play up, it splutters and shit when you put your foot down and dosent seem as fast as usual. i have replaced my plugs but didnt set the gap, what is the gap for these utes? also can someone do a write up on how to tune the carb? i ran a compression test today and the results were 135, 130, 130, 130 so dont think anythings wrong there? any info or tips on how to get it running like brand new would be appreciated

According to the spark plug guide at repco they run a .8mm gap.
I just replaced my leads due to them being less tan good and it's gained about 20% more power.
Did you check points, rotor and cap for wear?
Also check your timing, I have read about these motors jumping a tooth on the timing belt, I haven't had it happen personally but it does seem common.

i had a cracked vacuum hose that went to the middle of the intake right under the carb and it did the same thing until i replaced it, also check all of your vacuum hoses cuz i forgot to put one on under the air cleaner once and did the same thing..

mine was doin the same thing since I bought it but i found that one of the washers for the air filter had fallen into the carb. I doubt that is whats wrong with yours so Im just throwin it out there.

Stock Carb?

I had a colapsed catalytic converter, and that gave me similar results and it went through fuel fast!

cut it out and ran a straight pipe to muffler and it was awesome after, that was a 2.2l

Cheers
