Fuel pump problem, Any help?

Hey having problems with my ute at the mo. Thought i ran out of gas, but wasnt the case, still had half a tank. It doesnt want to start without turning it over for a few mins. I've just this morning blow out all the fuel lines to make sure theres nothing clogging them. I turned the engine over with the fuel hose from the carb in a bottle and there was no fuel coming thru it. I would just replace to be sure but they are about $120 so just asking to someone who knows? whats the best way to check your fuel pump. It's a mechanical one of my 2.0L petrol Fe

Well if theres no fuel coming from the line from the pump when you turn it over, Id say the pump is bad.
