never fails. b's around my area are non-existent then, an influx for sale (literally 6 or 7), small-ish town. anyway.. after the last two (87 & 93) that I ended up selling due to reasons beyond my control. I'm looking at building one to keep.

that being said.

truck 1: I've driven a 90 that is in reasonable shape body wise (for a Cdn truck) owned by an elderly gentleman in his 70's since new) .. it has 202k on the odo it's a carb'd B2200 auto .. motor is starting to get a little 'tired'

truck 2: a FI 93 B2200 auto with AC (doesn't work) and only 125k on the odo ... bed, bumpers and lower doors are like swiss cheese .. runs like new... looks like a turd

both are 2wd ext cabs .. not sure what other info would be helpful...? but, now for the question part....

If I were to be able to swing a deal on both of these trucks. what all would be involved in swapping the 93 FI motor into the 90 ??

am i looking for trouble? easy? do it in your sleep?

thanks for your input..

Just my .02 If you had both trucks side by side and a digital camera to help jog your memory I would think this would be a pretty simple swap. The body/engine compartment is identical between the FI truck and the carb truck. That being said, your wiring harness is going to run from the same basic computer location to the engine compartment.

My suggestion would be to remove the 90 engine, remove (intact) the 90 wiring harness in the engine compartment. Then carefully transfer the 93 wiring harness to the 90 then install the 93 motor.
