i am doing the f2t swap in my 88 ext cab and have a few questions as to what wiring i can eliminate. i wanna use the probe wiring as far as the engine goes and keep my factory stuff for all lighting. can i just unplug the rear harness from the fuse block? what can i eliminate this car had every option and i dont have enough room nd i dont want all this ugly wiring in my truck just want to clean it up as much as possible thanks to anyone that replies

You won't get a cleaner engine bay than you will my ditching all the OEM stuff and running MegaSquirt. The F2T harness is set up for a transverse mount FWD application, so the firewall is right where your wheel well is. It really turns into an ugly mess IMO.

If you want to go with stock ECU, check the mx-6 and performance probe forums. Those guys know all about the wiring harness, etc.

Like I said though, MS is the cleanest option under there. There is only like 17 wires in total that really need to come into the engine bay. Everything else like lights and shit can be routed behind fenders and stuff. They also have PNP MS for those ECUs now so you wouldn't have to make up harnesses. (Not really a big deal, but would save some time. Just run wires where you need em and solder to the F2T harness, done.)
