backfire when going up hills?

think maybe my choke isnt working

i went up to puyallup the other day and when i hit a hill on 112th it started backfiring and then died.. it will drive great on flat roads, i can even rev pretty high but i got up any sort of hill and try to rev it it bogs out or backfires. it will also back fire if i accelerate fast when its cold


any ideas other than the choke?? if anyone in my area has an extra carb layin around let me know

Sounds like your float bowl is not working correctly in the carb.

i thought that too but it looks fine through the glass, looks like im taking it apart lol
