First, welcome to the website.
Second, "left side of the motor" means you looking at the engine from the front (carburetor side), or you, sitting in the drivers seat (exhaust side)?
I really doubt it's a freeze plug, anyway.
These engines have a metal coolant supply tube that runs around under the exhaust system on the left (driver's side) that will spring a leak. There is a welded flange that a bolt goes through and engine vibration can cause the tube to fail.
The right side of the engine carries a number of rubber 8mm hoses that can fail. . .and if that is where your leak is, the only solution is to start replacing all of them. A '93 means they may all be 17+ years old.
The only reliable way I have found to locate water leaks is to use a pressure tester connected to the engine. You fill up the radiator with water, connect it to where the radiator cap would normally go, pump it up like a bicycle pump to 18 psi (1.5 bar), and watch for water leaks.
Added edit:
The reason you pump it up higher than normal cap pressure is becuase you need to find marginal areas before they fail on their own somewhere.
You also need to use the tester after you do your repairs to make sure you have found the only leak.
Water leaks are usually. . .fix one, find another.
