Ok guys I'm new to this hole thing, although this is my tird b series it is the first that will get more then just a webber. I want to do the kia swap. I want it so bad I feel the pain in my soon to be busted and grease covered nuckles. Now as for the problems. I want a 4x4 so I plan on keeping the kia trans and just making a new cross-member. I need to know what side the t-case come out on. I will need this to find the right axle and this part of the 2200 make over is easy. now back to the fe3 my god I have read so much about the wiring im getting grey hair. I just want to wire it up to run like it does in the stock sportage ( military member so the budget isnt huge) stock is all i want. does anybody know how to make this as effortless as possable when it comes to the wiring. hell I'll take the stering colum out of the car if I have to.

RECAP:
fe3 wiring for dummies
t-cas side

just email me if you can think of anything that will help.
I'll post pictures of the build. 1990 b2200 fe3 solid front axle. you have to admit it sounds pretty sweet

mine has the kia swap in it and i didnt do it, but i thank you take the whole wireing harness and just give it power and conect the things you need like temp, rpm, things like that ,as for the trans and 4x4 you can use the mazda trans they did make 4x4 b2200's so you could go that way...there ar eguys on here that did it and will know more

thats good info thanks, I would like to use the kia tranny becouse of the hole crank position sensor, I can do most thing mechanical but i just know i would end up destroying that thing. as for your truck honestly was the swap woth the money?

befor this truck i had a 2600i 2wd auto and it had pep, and yes this motor is a down grade in size but an up grade in power BUT!!! if you are looking in to doing something for the power, but not sure what to do...try doing the 3.0 swap, get it in and then tell us how to do it...i know the b2600i trans will bolt to 929 motor, becuase its the motor in the mpv's plus the mpv's had the 2.6i motor's(same as the b2600i motors) and they kept the same trans between the two....so in turn get a mpv harness 929 motor, or get the 929 harness and a turboed 929 motor....see where im going only thing is i dont know all that is needed to make it work

that sounds good but, but that seems to be a lot of peicing together. It does seem that your the go to guy for this info, thanks for the help. It turn out that big army is sending me to fort benning gergia and it is only about 50 miles from the kia plant so my hope is that the scrap yards will be full of the sportages to harvest from and a slough of mechanics to wire one up for is the price is right of course. I'll keep you guys posted on the swap and I plan on makeing a detailed list of what what you need to canobolize on the harness to make it a plug and play. In my opinion it shouldnt be this hard to work this swap. with all the parts and harness it should be easy and I intend to provide all the info on how to do this in a weekend not a month!

No such animal as a B2200 4x4.All Mazda 4x4s were B2600s and B2600is.And the 2600 is a whole different animal and the trannys and transfer cases will not fit a 2200 I dont think.bj
