Hey guys, I just got my head replaced with a somewhat better used one.

It seems to run alright, except once I get towards the end of a trip the engine starts to tick really loud. I was thinking it could be clogged lifters or something. I'm hoping its not a bad oil pump or something...

Would it be worth it to go through and clean everything, or should I just upgrade the cam and lifters? What are my options?

I'm wondering how much money I should dump into this engine. I saw a really sweet RX7 turbo swap I'd like to do, but not sure what all goes into that.

If it ticks when you first crank it up and then gets worse by the end of the trip im going to assume that the oil is getting thinner like it is suppose to do and the lifters arent staying pumped up anymore. Sounds like they pump up a little with the thick oil but the warm thin oil wont keep them pumped up. You can do the cam and lifter conversion and it will fix it if that is the problem.
