new frustrated member, my 83 wont start!!!

so as the title states im coming to you madza guys for some help. ive recently purchased a 83 sundowner and the truck is solid. got it home after a few hundred mile trip and i noticed it had a hard time starting. figuring it needed a new battery i replaced it and still nothing. truck has juice however when you go to start it all you get is one smal click and then nothing, not even jumping it with cables will work. so i guess is it the starter or ignition switch? thanks in advance.

honestly sounds like the brushes in the starter are shot. that "just a click" is the solenoid moving the armature, but the armature isnt spinning. try tapping lightly with the wooden end of a hammer, or use a plastic mallet and lightly tap to see if the armature is just seized up. might just need a new starter, or if you feel like trying to rebuild it yourself, try to pick up some brushes for your starter, and soldier the new ones in place of the old ones...
