just rebuild entire engine
brand new head, non rebuilt, came fully loaded including new lifters
1 quart lucas oil treatment
toped with pennzoil 10w40
lifters are hydraulic

i have another complete set of brand new in the package lifters but im assuming that they wont do me any good since the ones that are in it are brand new

any help appreciated.

have you seen what penzoil does to an engine? after the engine i saw the internals on that only penzoil had been used in, i will never use penzoil ever. i dont even like using it if its the only oil on the shelf. not really sure what could be your issue... i've always had a slight lifter tick (both my b2600i and my b2200), and is usually quiets way down once they get some oil on them. is your head getting oil from the pump when the engine is running...?

yea, the head is getting oil, it just dont quiet down after it warms up. im not sure whats up

maybe a bad seal

I just rebuilt my engine and also bought a brand new head. I had to adjust the lifters cold and then readjust them after i let it get to running temp. I still have a slight tick but no where near as bad. Have you checked the adjustment after you have ran it to a good running temp a few times?

They are hydraulic, self adjusting

The old lifters are junk. The new lifters are junk. New, old it doesnt matter. Its the design of the lifters that sucked from the beginning. You want rid of the tick then go to mechanical lifters and be done with it. With the mechanical you will have just a smooth quite clatter but no tick.

My son's was terrible after the last oil change and I put sea foam in it and it actually worked. I don't know if it is permanent or not but so far. And I am anything but a fan of sea foam.

Gotta be very careful with seafoam!!!! i would never ever use it in a vehicle that has over 120,000 on the clock. SeaFoam is a wonderful product that does exactly what it says it will do. Problem is is that in your high mileage engines the carbon is what is holding the rings together. SeaFoam will take all that out and you will burn oil likes its going out of style. believe me i learned this the hard way.
