like the title says im going to be replacing the rings in my truck soon. its a b2200 2.2. it is smoking really bad on start up. i replaced the valve seals and didnt help. so if anyone has any tips to make for a easier install i would appericate it.

When you pull the rings off break one in half and use it to clean out the slots where the rings sit. Don't dig and make scratches in the piston just get the deposites off.

thanks ill do that. only thing im worried about is timing. ive never built a 4cly but i have built a couple small block chevys and a 4.3

its pretty much all the same just in a smaller version. instead of six cylenders its four cylenders. I have done a voltswagon tear down and put back together and either a ford or a chevy six cylender, while in auto mechanics up at my local college. its all the same mate, just make sure you have a tourqe wrench.
