Well I was supposed to go pick up a sbc mildly built, etc and a 700r4 tranny today....Needless to say, I have postponed.

Pros/Cons from anyone that has done a sbc swap (im going carb'd)
Also, whats your thoughts on the 2.2 (i have yet to drive mine, so i dont know)

I am in the process of a bd (2.25")....I know the firewall has to be tubbed for distributor, etc....Any other fitment issues??

Money of course is something that is holding me back....And mounting the motor itself has just been a pestering worry....and for some reason im just intimidated by the swap (i dont know why, i know its not THAT big of a deal, i guess i need to get that part out of my head, lol)

Please, any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

swap is not that difficult. (everyones skill level is different, but if you are willing to learn a little, it's simple)
firewall does not need to be tubbed, unless your using that giant hei thing

these directions from an old swap kit lay out what needs to be addressed:

as far as the stock 2.2, if your fun meter peaks at about 80 hp, then this is your deal.

And since you are bodyin it you need to take in to consideration that if the tranny tunnel has to be tunneled then you most likely wont be able to keep your heat unless you go with some kind of aftermarket heater core.
