hello forum i just bought a 91 b2200 carbureted that was overheating only on the highway, but would go back to middle with the heater on. i took out the thermostat to test it and when i was trying to put it back in i broke a bolt in the thermostat housing, now i drove it about 10 minutes with no coolant to get to my brothers house so i could drill it out, the truck overheated and temp gauge got almost 3/4 of the way before i got there. Ive gotten the bolt out and hooked it back up and now when I start the truck a big cloud of smoke comes out the exhaust and it wont idle and stalls, if i give it gas the smoke will go away and the truck idles around 1k when its warmed up.. did I blow my head gasket driving the truck with no coolant?? thankyou

yea you probably blew your head gasket, or you warpped your head or both. sorry to go and ruin it. but if the head is aluminum then if you over heat it once its bretty much done. but i dont know much about the b2000's. but you probably did blow or warp your head. but what color smoke?
