Instead of digging through the wiring diagram, anybody know off of the top of their head if the washer sensor (on an '87) is a switch that grounds out or goes live when "out of fluid"?

It's obviously not hurting anything, but it'd be nice to have it working correctly.

Is there a washer light???

Hehehe. Yeah. I guess I can dig through the wiring diagram.

I need to upload some pics of the truck. Mind you, the shape it's in reminds me of the "here's when I first bought it" of many of these build threads.

I'll try to upload some pics, and I'll upload a pic of the washer light for ya, Cusser.

Just pull it, when my washer fluid splutters and stops, I sense that it is out of fluid.
But then again, I am strong in the force.

When the W/Y wire is shorted to ground the light will illuminate. According to the manual the sensor is removable from the tank. Good Luck.

I'll look in my owner's manual within a few days, didn't know these had those. Here in Arizona we don't use those much, either the fluid will crack the hot windshield, if it doesn't vaporize before it gets there.

We regularly get rain that vaporizes before it hits the ground here out west - correct SinCity?

Here in northern Minnesota, how else are we supposed to get the snow and ice off of my windshield every morning...hehehe. We have to make sure the fluid is good down to -25 degrees or the bottle breaks instead of the windshield.....

Eh, we get lots of dust from dirt and trees in addition our spring rain that lasts a month. We usually only get a good snow a few times each winter.

I did forget to mention that I'm not a magnificent idiot in that I manually check my fluids regularly. Its just that the sensor seems be bad and the light stays on.

We are currently having the same issue with cortnye's truck... But I'm lazy and haven't bothered looking into the cause of her wiper fluid light being on...

My b26 doesn't have the washer light. Kinda wish I had one..... I too am not a "magnificent idiot" but I like to have the little "options" that they offered. Kinda like to be a little different.
