Before I do the weber conversion on my 2.2 I am wondering........? I know that the mikuni carb has a idle up solenoid for air conditioning but it looks like the weber does not. Does the engine want to stall at idle (with the weber) when the air conditioning compressor is on?

Mine does drop the idle speed almost in half when the AC is on with the Weber, enough to where it starts to idle shake a little, but not enough to cut off.

I usually just tend to turn the AC off when I come to a stop because of that, and because it accelerates a little faster with the AC off when I go to take off again. If it is really hot out and I know I'll be at a light for a while I'll just hold my foot on the throttle to idle it back up a bit. But I have left it running with the AC on to keep the wife happy while I run into a store for a few minutes, come back out and it is chugging right along just like I left it and ice cold inside.

The Cuss lives in Arizona, and has run his '88 B2200 with AC and Weber for about 6 years now with no issues. Mine's a 5 -speed.

I don't even bother to re-set the idle for summer v. winter, since our summers are like 9 months long. I set the idle to about 1000 rpm, a tad higher than specification, and yI can feel (and see on my tachometer) that the rpm drop to about 650-700 at idle with AC on, but it doesn't stall, just a little less smooth. I didn't bother to try to devise any idle-up device for it, not worth it, but do a Search here and on MT because I think someone posted that an old Pinto idle up might work, or maybe you can rig up one from your existing set up.

But I don't think you need it. If you want to increase the idle a little for your 9 days of summer in northern Minnesota, that's easy with the Weber.

If you set the idle too high, you may get run-on; there are electric shut off solenoids availble to stop that, but I haven't had to try that.

My red B2200 is set at about 850 on the warmed up idle, when running the A/C it will knock the idle down to 550 to 600 rpm but it never wants to die on me, even when making a panic stop, it runs just fine. When I first installed it, I did have to adjust the idle mixture screw in some (or out, can't remember) because it was wanting to diesel when you shut off the ignition, but I cured that and she does just fine now.

Same here...idle with A/C off is 825 or so...with A/C on...625 - 650.
