just wonderin what people thought of the foreced evacuations that are supposed to be taking place sometime soon in new orleans. i think evacuating everyone is the right thing to do but if someone knows teh risks involved and still refuses to evacuate, i dont think they should be forced to, but with that they also shouldnt be mad if they get sick or dont get any further help if they decided not to evacuate. just post some thoughts.

While I would not stay, I do not think the government should be allowed to force people to leave that do not have children or people they have to care for. It is the government overstepping its boundaries (like when they stole the land from those people in michigan for a shopping mall). While it is an unwise for them to stay, it is their decision.

I agree with you guys but they are forcing evacuation for a reason. There is high risk of getting sick. There are so many reasons not to stay, I dont see why anyone would want to but on the other hand, people want to stay in their own city and try to wait for things to get better than they should do it but at their own risk. But we all know how the world works and someones going to get pissed if they do decide to stay and they do get sick or they dont recieve help anymore. This is really a no win situation.

Should have been smart enough to get out of the way dont mean to be so blunt but what do you think is going to happen when you live in a hurricane area and its 7 ft below sea level its like living in south flordia and thinking a hurricane will never hit. Its like not dodgeing a bullet that you knew was coming a week in advance.

werd...hopefully when they rebuild new orleans, which im sure they will...they will move it above sea level and farther away from the coast, i saw something on the news earlier saying that the land mass where new orleans is at has been sinking for the past couple hundred years
