I have a 1988 b2200 with auto transmission and carb model, the issues I am having is it starts and idles fine, however when you are just sitting and try to rev the engine it literally takes 15+ seconds to reach 4000 rmp with your foot to the floor. I have tore carb down and cleaned it, cleaned egr valve, removed both cats, replaced plugs, wires,cap,rotor, replaced mixture solenoid, new fuel filter, choke is working fine, inspected vacuum lines thoroughly and no leaks, compression tested 125,125,125,132. Under acceleration it takes forever to reach 25 mph, and if there is a slight hill the truck wont make it up, the rpm's dont change the truck just has no power.. I am stumped to the max.. Does anyone have any ideas on what else to do???

more than likely it's your auto trans that is the issue.

Even though while sitting in park or neutral and you foot to the floor it still takes forever to pick up rpm's?

Stock carb I presume? That could be your issue... I'm not saying it is but they are crap. Get u a weber. It won't make a huge power difference but your throttle response should increase significantly. If you're running a weber then Idk what's going on. But what you're describing sounds like mine before I "webbered"

Check the condition of your spark plugs, if they are really black then its running very rich. When you run an engine rich it will start up very easily but it wont have any power and wont want to rev.

Plugs are brand new, as with all of the other tune up "stuff" timing is spot on at 6 BTDC, and yes oem carb, also just for fun i unplugged the larger plug/ harness from the ecu and started the truck, it ran ever smoother and only took about 10 seconds of wide open throttle to get to 4000 rpm's... wonder if maybe a violent "tap" with a 10 lb sledge hammer would help??? lol

I meant check the color of the plugs to get an idea of the air/fuel mixture. Also just because the timing is correct at idle doesn't mean its advancing properly with increased rpms. If you check the plugs like I said, it will give you an idea if the problem is fuel or ignition related. Google "Spark plug color chart" and compare them to the pics.
