Fuel sender help?

So, I've torn out the gas tank and replaced the fuel pump (now waiting on bolts for the lid, since I had to drill them out), and figured I'd repair/fix my fuel sender as well since it only goes from 3/4 to just below 1/4 (used to work perfectly!).

But, how do I fix it? I disassembled it as far as was easy last night, and it is a little box with a metal lever and a board wrapped in wire inside--can't see that it has any problems moving through the full range either. Doesn't look dirty, but there is a little space in a few wires wrapped around the board. The metal lever next to the wire wrap doesn't seem to touch them either except at extreme empty.

Any ideas? I'd like to fix it before I put it together today.

I can't remember if you can do it at the point you're at now, or if you have to pull it apart a little more...
You've got to bend the metal lever slightly, to get it to make contact with the wire wrap.
