I am starting to feel like i'm searching for a pink unicorn. Started rebuild on my b2000 and was getting ready to install new oil pump and do not have a gasket that goes between pump and block. Called my local Napa and dealer but no part number listed for gasket. Any ideas other than RTV ? Dustin
You can cut your own gasket with an Exacto knife out of gasket paper. I use a one-hole punch to put the mounting holes into the gasket
Take a piece of gasket paper that is bigger than the assembly and tap around the edges with a small hammer to get a rough outline around the edges then cut it out with the Exacto or razor knife.
I'd still use grey rtv if I didn't need the gasket, which I don't think you really do.
Every one I've taken off had a gasket, but I only ever found them in compete rebuild kits. Not all of them though. I use black rtv, just a thin layer. Properly applied it will never leak.
Thanks guys for the replies . Sorry for the slow response ,got called into work. I agree the pump I removed had a gasket so I figured you could find one ,but looks like I will be going the RTV route today. Dustin
